New! Florida Produce Season Calendar

Florida Produce CalendarEver wonder when a particular fruit or vegetable is at the season’s peak? Take a look at our Florida Produce Season Calendar. We will continue to add more information as we collect and cull it.

Did You Know?

Tim Brown and FamilyDid you know that all agriculture vendors at Central Sarasota Farmers Market are also farmers / producers? That’s right, every business that vends fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants, etc. are operations that farm much of their own product.  This means our vendors actually know how to grow stuff in the ground (or hydroponic towers as the case may be).  This also means the people that you interact with at our market are far more likely to have real hands-on experience with farming.

For reasons of variety or growing season, many agriculture vendors supplement their inventory by reselling from other small farmers or distributors. But at Central Sarasota Farmers Market, every single agriculture vendor must be an active farmer or grower even if they resell.
It’s good to know where your food comes from!

Combine cubed cantaloupe, yogurt, juice, honey and vanilla in blender; blend until nearly smooth. Pour into 4 glasses. You can garnish with cantaloupe wedges and orange peel. Serve immediately.

Last Week’s Photos

Every week we get at least a few photos of the market, the vendors, the vendors products, and whatever else happens….. like on July 26th when there was a full rainbow in the sky while we set up the market. Here are last weeks photos focusing mostly on the produce.
